At Diamond, our staff are highly trained and experienced in working with people with physical disabilities, learning difficulties, mental health, dementia and much more. This ensures our service users receive high quality support, tailored to them, helping them to integrate into the community and live as independently as possible.

We encourage service users to engage in social activities within the community and at home. This is highly important in maintaining service users’ mental health and overall wellbeing.
Social inclusions involved support service users to attend social clubs, encouraging them to enter and engage with those in public spaces like cafes or museums, or even just engage in communication with their support worker.
We understand all service users have different levels of social skills and abilities so we ensure we tailor support to fit the needs of the individual.
Our staff assist service users to complete all aspects of maintaining their tenancy independently, including;
Whether it’s working together to achieve these tasks, supporting service users to manage them independently or completing tasks for service users when they are no longer capable, our staff ensure all service users tenancies are safe and hygienic environments.
Where a service user requires assistance with their shopping, for whatever the reason, we can support them to get out to their local shops or complete the task for them where they are unable to do so.
We can also assist with creating shopping lists and budgeting.
We ensure service users have choice and control over their shopping requirements,
whilst promoting a healthy and well balanced diet where possible.
Eating well is a key factor in maintaining good health, so it is important that we encourage service users to have a well balanced, healthy diet where possible.
We assist service users to prepare and cook meals, whether it be working with them to achieve this or doing it for them where they are no longer able. This could be anything from heating up a ready meal for dinner, to batch cooking all meals for the week.
Batch cooking allows support workers to make a range of meals for the week which can be stored and placed in the fridge or freezer for later use by the service user.
Many individuals face feelings of loneliness or isolation due to their condition or ailments. We aim to reduce these feelings of loneliness and provide support and companionship to those in need.
We can provide companionship in a range of ways, including;
At Diamond, we understand the complexities of looking after a loved one 24/7 and appreciate that full-time carers need a break from their role, whether it be to relax or complete any activities outside of their caring duties, assisting them to meet their own needs.
This is why we offer respite support for those living with Dementia, or other conditions that require a full-time carer. We can stay in with your loved one allowing you time to go out to the shops, meet friends, attend clubs or even just take some time to yourself. Additionally, where able, we can take your loved ones out to help integrate them into the community and give you time to rest with peace of mind that your loved one is okay.
At Diamond, we offer our services to any adult that requires support to maintain their independence, manage daily tasks or those who feel socially isolated.
Our services can be paid for privately or through your local council. We work closely with West Lothian Council and Edinburgh District Council, to facilitate all payment options. Information on this can be found in greater depth on our Payment and Funding page.
